Alamo Drafthouse describes the event:

6+ hours, 3 films, 1 extraordinary man

The remarkable career of the movie industry's most admired and influential special-effects auteur, the legendary Ray Harryhausen, inspired generations of filmmakers and audiences. Ray Harryhausen's greatest achievement was the effortless melding of stop motion animation with live action. With creative and inexpensive methodology, Harryhausen set a precinct in modern film making influencing countless household names: Randy Cook, Peter Jackson, Terry Gilliam, John Landis, Guillermo Del Toro, James Cameron, Steven Spielberg just to name a few. He made Pegasus fly, dinosaurs roam once again, and of course he released the Kraken. His hands melded the modern pop culture and made movies...magical. To honor his legacy and revisit our childhood fantasies, Alamo Drafthouse Mainstreet and the Nerds of Nostalgia Podcast have selected three signature classics for your viewing pleasure. All three films will remain a mystery until playtime. Plus, each guest will receive a special Alamo Drafthouse curated poster to commemorate the event. Don't miss your chance to experience this mystery marathon on the big screen.
